A path runs around the perimeter of the island leading to the ‘Club La Isla’ with its own gym, bar, swimming pool and ample terraces. This is going to be something VERY special indeed. This is such a unique development in a truly luxurious location, yet it comes without the luxury price tag. Usually such a prestigious location, front line to the water, would ‘cost a fortune’ yet here the apartments are priced from just €144,300. Imagine waking up to the sound of the water lapping at the shore close to your bedroom window. Imagine taking your breakfast on your terrace, looking over the stillness of the lake and the rolling countryside leading up to the mountains in the far distance. Imagine swimming in the infinity swimming pool. This is “The Life”. But beware – these unique apartments are selling FAST. Buying one of these ‘Off-Plan’ properties must surely be an investment for the future – not just in purely financial terms, but as an investment in ones quality of life. Building site or finished development? Work commences late 2008 with a build programme of 1½ years, so the properties should become available for completion in 2010. As this is a tiny Resort of just 11 apartment blocks one expects that they should all be completed on time and together so that the workmen will then en-mass move off site. It has been designed as the largest sports and commercial complex in the whole Murcia region of Spain. So it will be massive! It is neither a typical town centre nor a traditional shopping centre, but an island of wide streets and spacious squares covering 100,000 square meters. It aims to evoke a bustling Arabic quarter with its palm trees and shops, cafés, bars, restaurants, offices and other services to be found here. At one end of the island is an independent island that houses the Banos de Alhama thermal baths, with their hot and cold indoor and outdoor pools, spa and sauna covering 7,000 square meters. At the centre of Condado de Alhama is the huge lake. A sheet of water covering 200,000 square meters, and beyond that the brilliant green of the golf courses. The water from the lake is channelled through the streets of the town centre to form ponds and fountains, and small piers jut out into the lake. • Outside of the Cortijos de Alhama Resort are numerous other Resorts of the Condado de Alhama ‘Super Resort’, so countless leisure and sporting activities will be here, very close by.
