Introduction
El Mirador de Alhama is Spanish for the vantage points of Alhama, and it aptly describes the location of this Polaris World Resort, inspired by the elevated position this Resort has within the much larger Condado de Alhama Polaris World Resort. This is a Resort within a Resort, as it is part of the “Super Resort” of Condado de Alhama, what Polaris World calls “A World of Resorts”. El Mirador de Alhama is situated along the northern boundary of Condado de Alhama. It is built on the higher ground and so enjoys spectacular views over the whole Condado and indeed over the Sierra de Carrascoy, the Alhama and the Sierra Espuna nature reserve which is a short 10 minute drive away, home to hundreds of species of plant life and over 200 species of animals.

A trail winds its way around El Mirador de Alhama with 4 view points to catch the views. The Resort has wide open green areas, gardens and numerous communal swimming pools.

The properties at El Mirador de Alhama are all apartments, built in low rise blocks of just ground floor apartments and above them 1st floor apartments – these are not high rise tower blocks. All apartments either face in to their own communal swimming pools and lush gardens, or else face out to the larger lush gardens around the edge of the Resort.

Our Personal Opinion
El Mirador de Alhama being a Polaris World Resort, itself being located within Condado de Alhama, a “World of Resorts” as it is, should mean that the choice of leisure pursuits available, the breadth of café bars and restaurants and the choice of no less than 3 Jack Nicklaus golf courses on-site mean that here should be something for everyone. The Resort has an open and airy feel, things are well spaced out, and the apartments are some of the least expensive anywhere in this part of Spain. Add into the value for money quotient all the things that Polaris World build in to their Resorts and these properties become unbeatable value for money.

Location and communications
• Located inland in the region of Murcia, with a backdrop of mountains.
• About 10 to 15 minutes inland from the beaches of Mazarron (for information on Mazarron please select the item Mazarron under the bullet point ‘Places of Interest’ in the left menu).
• Close to the Spanish town of Alhama de Murcia.
• San Javier (Murcia) airport 25 minutes drive.
• The new Corvera airport, due to open in 2010 will be 20 minutes drive away.

Developer

SENIOR properties available?
Not on the Polaris World price list. However the ground floor apartments might be suitable anyway. Plus, when we recently visited the show apartments, we were also shown another ground floor 3 bedroom apartment where the 3rd bedroom wall had been taken away to open up the rest of the accommodation. This would make it even more suitable.

The prices are already very keen, but also add into the value for money quotient all the things that Polaris World build in to their Resorts and these properties become unbeatable value for money.

Size and Scale
• Only apartments.
• Over 1,500 apartments.
• 3 bedroom ground floor apartments have a front garden and a wide front terrace, plus a small rear garden.
• 1st floor apartments have 2 bedrooms and a huge roof top terrace solarium.
• 9 separate ‘Gardens’, each with its own groupings of apartment blocks, 8 facing into its own communal swimming pool and set within its own gardens and the remaining 1 facing into its own lush garden. The remaining apartment blocks face into the larger lush gardens around the outside of the Resort.
• All apartments sit in a lush garden setting, somewhat park like in appearance.

Yes. Very secure with 24 hour 7 days a week manned security access.

Building site or finished development?
The launch of this development was in January 2008, so work is in the early stages. But there were 2,500 workmen on site from 400 sub contractors, and in the height of the building works 6,000 workmen will be on site. That is a lot of input, but hopefully it will mean that completion will be on time, that most (if not all) properties will be completed roughly at the same time, and that the workmen will then en-mass move off site.

• Outside of the confines of this particular El Mirador de Alhama Resort are the numerous other Resorts of the much larger Condado de Alhama ‘Super Resort’, so countless leisure and sporting activities will be here, very close by. This is a true ‘Super Resort’, the very first in this part of Spain.
• The seaside town of Mazarron is just 10 to 15 minutes drive away with all of its typically Spanish cafés, bars, restaurants and shops.
• The Spanish town of Alhama de Murcia is very close by for a traditional inland and unrushed experience.
• As an owner of a Polaris World property, homeowners become members of the Polaris Club, allowing access to all Polaris World Resorts facilities, be they shops, hotels, sports, spas or golf. 

Golf
• 3 Jack Nicklaus designed 18 hole golf courses on site. Not just one but two ‘Bears Best’ courses and the third course being a ‘Signature’ course.
• As an owner of a Polaris World property, homeowners become members of the Polaris Club, allowing access to all Polaris World Resorts facilities, be they shops, hotels, sports, spas or golf. Of  note is the Nicklaus Golf Trail, the 9 golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus, all of which are within Polaris World Resorts, 3 are here on site and all are within a 25 kilometre radius.
• Close by are other non-Polaris World courses, in total there are approaching 20 golf courses within a 25 kilometre radius!

Beach
• The gently shelving, safe and sandy beaches of Mazarron are just about 10 to 15 minutes drive away (for information on Mazarron please select the item ‘Mazarron’ under the bullet point ‘Places of Interest’ in the left menu).
• Polaris World are also building their own beach club at the end tip of the beautiful La Manga Strip, and the nearest Mar Menor beach is around 25 to 30 minutes drive away (for more information select the item ‘Mar Menor and La Manga’ under the bullet point ‘Places of Interest’ in the left menu). The Beach Club La Manga will have café bars and a restaurant with a swimming pool on-site.
