Our Personal Opinion
This is an intimate development built front line right on the beach offering fantastic views, yet in a secluded area of beach that has never been crowded or busy, on the edge of a protected nature reserve, yet the hustle and bustle of the busier beaches, the fabulous marina with its dozens of café bars and restaurants are within walking distance. The sunsets from the properties will be fantastic, viewed over the flat calm that typifies the famous Mar Menor, the beautiful inland sea, viewed from one of the best beaches along the whole of the famous La Manga Strip.

The La Encañizada Nature Reserve
The reserve abuts the development.  It is truly special place, a place of quietness and tranquillity.  The reserve has been as protected area since 1992 and from 1998 has been considered a protected bird sanctuary. There is no political will to develop this reserve, indeed the influential and strong green party here would not allow it! There are a few buildings dotted within the reserve, all closely related to the traditional fishing methods of this region.  Indeed some of the canes used in the past to trap mullet and other fish are still visible in the shallow waters of the reserve. 

Location and Communications
• Located front line on the beautiful beach of the Mar Menor.
• Access not only by road, but also by sea is possible, as ferries cross the Mar Menor and berth in the Thomas Maestro marina nearby.
• The properties are located a short drive from the San Javier airport of Murcia, Alicante airport is within reach and the new international airport of Corvera (due to open in 2010) will be within 1 hours drive.  Many low cost airlines are already operating to this area from throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe.

• The Strip has numerous marinas along it, the closest and the largest, most sophisticated and best equipped is the ‘Thomas Maestro’ marina, facing in to the Mar Menor, is less than 5 minutes away.  Opposite the Thomas Maestro marina, facing out to The Mediterranean, a new marina the ‘Puerto Mayor’ is to be built. 
• A great deal of money is being spent at this, the very end of the La Manga Strip.  

Holiday home or permanent residence?
This development is aimed squarely at those who appreciate the best in life, as the La Manga Strip and the Mar Menor sea are famous attractions in their own right, but this end of the strip has the best of all worlds, a quite (almost ‘private’) beach with the busier beaches still within walking distance away, a small golf course within walking distance, fantastic restaurants and more all available nearby, so it may come as no surprise that the Spanish in particular favour this area, so expect many of the apartments to be owned by the Spanish who will use them as holiday homes throughout August in particular, with the others owned by northern Europeans using their apartments as holiday homes throughout the year.

The development is in a quiet area right at the very tip of the La Manga Strip – go any further and you’ll get you feet wet! Yet within walking distance are dozens of café bars and restaurants, the shops and a fabulous marina. The rest of The Strip itself has countless café bars, restaurants, shops, numerous hotels, a Spa and a Church along its length.

Golf
There is a small golf course within walking distance and all of the Polaris World golf courses are available to Polaris World property owners. Polaris opted for the best golfer in the World, Jack Nicklaus, to design their courses. There are only 10 Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses in the whole of Europe … and 9 Jack Nicklaus courses are on Polaris World Resorts. All 9 are within a 25 km radius. A Polaris shuttle bus serves them all. Owners secure discounted green fees. The Polaris slogan “Polaris World offers the best golf opportunity in Europe” seems, if anything, to be an understatement.

Beach
The beach is literally a stones throw from the apartments and penthouses, as they are front line beach. The fabulous beach gently shelves into the safe, shallow and warm waters of the fabulous Mar Menor Sea, a unique inland sea with a huge diversity of water sports. Festivals
There is a huge diversity of festivals locally, and for jazz fans the now world famous San Javier Jazz Festival is 25 minutes drive away.

Why so inexpensive for such a glorious location?
These properties have been built as ‘2nd Level Holiday Apartments’ in accordance with Decree 75/2005 which sates that, amongst other requirements, that owners of these properties are legally obliged not to live in them all year round and to designate a certain time period for rental of the property to third parties. Would that be a problem? Many, if not the majority of owners of holiday properties do actually rent out their properties for some of the year, as it helps to pay the running costs.
