Introduction
The Polaris World Mar Menor Golf Resort, as seen on British TV! This was the first ever Polaris World Resort, located just 5 minutes drive from the wonderful beaches of the Mar Menor Sea, with what was to become the trademark of all Polaris World Resorts, a Jack Nicklaus golf course at its heart, and in the case of the Mar Menor Resort a 5-star Intercontinental Hotel and Spa as its centrepiece. The original Resort, now called Polaris World Mar Menor I Golf Resort has been expanded and incorporates the Polaris World Mar Menor II extension, along with the original 9 holes golf course having been extended to the full 18 holes. Locally it called simply Mar Menor Resort or Mar Menor Golf. The Resort has now matured and arguably looks the most established of all of the Polaris World Resorts. 

Our Personal Opinion
The original Polaris World Resort and the benchmark against which all other Resorts measured themselves in 2005, the year this Resort opened. The original Resort, now called Mar Menor I has matured and looks ‘lived in’ whilst the extension, Mar Menor II adds a new dimension and an entirely different perspective to this popular Resort, the former being a mix of multi-coloured villas and townhouses, and the later being more Moorish influenced apartments, penthouses and townhouses. Throughout both parts of this now large Resort all properties are centred on lush communal gardens with numerous fountains, the overall effect being a feeling of luxurious surroundings. As with all Polaris World Resorts you’ll not see iron security grills on any windows here; this is a Resort with a highly secure perimeter, and a place where the children play in the streets. There is a ‘feel good’ feeling here.

Location and communications
• Located 3 minutes drive inland just off the main AP7 north-south coastal motorway.

There are only 10 Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses in the whole of Europe and 9 Jack Nicklaus courses are on Polaris World Resorts. The Mar Menor Jack Nicklaus course is a masterpiece which fits into the overall jigsaw, in that the ‘buy on one, play on all’ concept allows owners and their guests to play on all 9 of the Jack Nicklaus courses on the ‘Nicklaus Golf Trail’. 6 courses are open, 3 more are to be built, some of which are ‘Bear’s Best’ courses, and all 9 are within a 25 km radius of the Mar Menor Resort. A Polaris shuttle bus serves them all. Owners secure discounted green fees. The Polaris slogan “Polaris World offers the best golf opportunity in Europe” seems, if anything, to be an understatement.

Beach
